Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)

Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) has numerous benefits for men suffering from low levels of testosterone. It can improve symptoms such as fatigue, decreased libido, erectile dysfunction and muscle weakness, and improve overall cardiovascular health, mood, cognitive function and muscle mass.

Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for men, also known as testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), has been shown to have a variety of benefits. The primary benefit of HRT is an improvement in symptoms associated with low levels of testosterone, such as decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, fatigue, and muscle weakness. HRT can also help to improve bone density, which can reduce the risk of osteoporosis.

Another benefit of HRT is an improvement in overall cardiovascular health. Studies have shown that low levels of testosterone are associated with an increased risk of heart disease and stroke. HRT can help to improve cholesterol levels, blood pressure, and overall cardiovascular function, which can reduce the risk of these conditions.

HRT can also improve mood and cognitive function. Men with low levels of testosterone often experience symptoms of depression, anxiety, and irritability. HRT can help to improve mood and cognitive function by increasing levels of neurotransmitters such as dopamine and serotonin, which are responsible for regulating mood and cognitive function.

Finally, HRT can help to improve muscle mass and strength. Testosterone plays a crucial role in the development and maintenance of muscle mass and strength. HRT can help to increase muscle mass and strength, which can improve overall physical function and reduce the risk of falls and fractures in older men.

Overall, HRT is a safe and effective treatment for men with symptoms of low testosterone. It can improve a variety of health conditions and improve overall quality of life. However, as with any medical treatment, it is important to discuss the potential risks and benefits with a healthcare provider before starting HRT.

It is important to note that TRT should only be used under the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional, and that other underlying health conditions, such as thyroid or pituitary gland problems, should be ruled out before starting TRT. Lifestyle changes, such as regular exercise, a healthy diet, and stress management, can also help optimize hormone levels and overall health in men.

Injectable testosterone cypionate has been our standard approach to maintaining optimal T levels.  This is usually accomplished with a once weekly injection.  Although not every guy likes to stick themselves with needles.

We are excited to offer another effective option for HRT.  Kyzatrex is the tradename for testosterone undecanoate, which is an oral gel capsule taken twice day.  Because it is made with a fat based carrier, it is absorbed through your lymphatic system instead of going through what is called "first pass metabolism". This has traditionally caused liver problems and efficacy issues with oral T administration.  These newest forms of oral testosterone, although a little more expensive than injectable T, is very effective and appears to have fewer side effects that need pharmaceutical management, like elevated estrogen levels or elevated SHBG levels.
